Vegan Chocolate Orange Brownies

This year is going to be the first year in my life (that I can remember) where I won't be having a Terry's Chocolate Orange 😱 So unless some miracle happens before Christmas and a vegan version of a chocolate orange appears I'll have to make do with these Vegan Chocolate Orange Brownies!

Vegan Chocolate Orange Brownies

On a recent shopping trip I felt inspired to make something with oranges, I don't know why, but I just picked up two oranges and popped them in the fruit bowl where they sat for a week, until today when I decided to make these brownies! These are rich, gooey brownies - using both melted chocolate and cocoa powder is the trick! I really hope you all try this recipe and enjoy it as much as I did!

Vegan Chocolate Orange Brownies

Total time: 45 Minutes Plus Cooling Time
Yield: 9 Square Brownies
  • 100g Dairy-free Butter
  • 170g Caster Sugar
  • 85g Plain Flour
  • 30g Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 150ml Dairy-Free Milk
  • 2 Vegan Eggs (I used Orgran Egg Replacer)
  • 75g Vegan Dark Chocolate
  • 100g Vegan Chocolate Chips
  • Chocolate Orange Drizzle X
  • 25g Vegan Dark Chocolate
  • A Few Drops Orange Essence
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 175 degrees celsius. Grease and line an 8-inch square baking tin.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Mix in the soya milk and vegan eggs.
  4. Melt the 75g of dark chocolate, then fold this into the batter, and then gently fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  5. Spoon this mixture into the prepared cake tin.
  6. Bake for around 30 minutes, until the top is getting crispy and cracking slightly. Leave to cool in the tin.
  7. Once cooled, melt the 25g of dark chocolate and mix in a few drops of orange essence, drizzle this on top and leave to set.
