10 Kitchen Tools Every Baker Needs
I've been baking for most of my life, pretty much since I could stand up and mix a cake, I've been helping my parents out with their baking (also meant I got to lick the bowl 😋), so I figured why not write a list of kitchen tools that every baker needs!
As someone who's got their fair share of experience baking (but by no means am I an expert!) I thought that as my blog is pretty much built around baking, with occasional savoury recipes, I had a good knowledge of what you need in you kitchen to get your bake on, and what really isn't that necessary. This is not an extensive list of everything you need in your kitchen, rather it is what you need to get started in baking.

Easy Vegan Rocky Road
I would make Rocky Road all the time as a non-vegan, but turning vegan meant I couldn't use the same ingredients I was used to so it slipped to the end of my baking list and I focused more on mastering vegan cakes. Recently I decided enough was enough, and brainstormed what I could put into a vegan rocky road.

Vegan Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
I'm going to come straight out and say it, I don't like making carrot cakes.
Every time I've tried in the past, it's always been so tedious to get the carrots grated (yes I do own a food processor), and no matter what I try, the cream cheese frosting always fails. Miserably fails. I'm talking it fails so much it makes me grumpy.

Lunch at Junk It Up - Vegan Fast Food, Newcastle upon Tyne
I'm going to be totally honest here, as a vegan, I've been getting a little tired of the only vegan offerings out there being burgers or pizzas... they can move over because we have a new contender, vegan fried "chicken"! Seriously, I don't think anything can come close to the satisfaction you get when biting into a piece of crispy (fake) chicken, and it is something I'll admit I've missed a little since turning vegan.

Easy Homemade Vegan Ramen
This is a recipe for an easy homemade vegan ramen, which requires very few ingredients, depending on how fancy you want to make it! I really enjoy using onions, mushrooms, carrot and gyoza in my ramen, however you could use tofu, bok choy, fresh chillis... the list is endless!

Vegan Lotus Biscoff Cake
Mothers Day was a few weeks ago (at least the on we celebrate here in the UK was) and instead of doing the traditional buying chocolate or flowers I thought I'd make my Mum a cake with two of her favourite things; chocolate and Lotus Biscoff Spread.

Vegan Apple Crumble Muffins
These Apple Crumble Muffins are fluffy, tasty, easy to make and an all-round winner really! I have a love for muffins, they're warming and a suitable portion size that you can pop one in your lunch box or sneak one throughout the day without ruining your appetite - dreamy stuff! I also have a love for apple crumble (even though I haven't written up my recipe for it on this blog yet whoops I will get on that right away), so it made sense that I incorporate the two and make these Apple Crumble Muffins!

Easy Vegan Shortbread
Being able to make these buttery, crunch and delicious Vegan Shortbread biscuits with definitely make you happy - why you ask? Because they're perfectly snack sized, and if you're anything like myself, you'll find yourself grazing on these biscuits, eating "just one more" until suddenly there's only two biscuits left (a regular occurrence for me tbh).

Vegan Chocolate and Banana Bread
This chocolate and banana cake is something I used to make all the time a few years ago. Since then I've cut out dairy and eggs, so I've had to improvise a bit in order to still make such a rich and tasty cake.
